The bright-sounding koa wood of the islands matures over time as the instrument is played, and the all-wood construction creates more warmth of tone with each passing year of ownership. This is an acoustic guitar that you can keep in the family and pass on to future generations. 

The Grand Auditorium shape of this six-string is unique to Taylor instruments, and its nice cutaway makes access to the upper ranges of the fretboard easy. Indian rosewood is used for the binding on the body, fretboard, and headstock. Complex chord patterns are rendered with comfort across the Island Vine inlay on the ebony fretboard, and the neck is finished in a smooth gloss that allows your hands to glide up and down the neck. The abalone soundhole rosette adds a touch of elegance along with the popular Shaded Edgeburst finish. The guitar uses steel strings of light, medium, or heavy gauge. Phosphor bronze strings also work beautifully with this model. Slightly slimmer than a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar, the Grand Auditorium styling delivers the treble notes with sharp definition and great sustain. The bass notes offer plenty of warmth as well.
